Alright so every time I compare two similar beauty brands, my blog post will be titled Beauty Brawl! I will also post photos at the bottom of the page if you’d like to see what these two items look like! It’s time to find out which is going to be the last one standing!
Today I am putting two contenders up against each other:
First up is the Clinique High Impact Mascara. This mascara has a full natural set brush with bristles that seem to separate and volumize every lash. It has a non flaky formula and one bottle lasts me around 3 months (which is when you should be changing your makeup anyways). It prices in at around $19 CAD which isn’t so bad considering the price of most high quality mascara!
Next in the ring is L’Oreal Voluminous. This mascara is very similar to the High Impact, I found them to be quite comparable in their brushes and longevity. This drugstore brand does exactly what it says its does. VOLUMIZES. I love this mascara and recently picked it up at Shopper’s Drugmart for $6.99 CAD! Such a steal. The only downside to this mascara is that the formula isn’t as thick as Clinique’s so it requires a couple more coats for the full volumized look. Otherwise you can put on one or two coats and have a very natural, pretty lash look.
It’s been a close call but the winner is…
L’OREAL VOLUMINOUS! The reason this mascara is the winner is mainly the price. For a college student every bit helps and although the formula isn’t quite as thick, I get compliments on my lashes when I wear it, it never flakes or clumps and it’s so easy to wash off. I think you’ll love this mascara just as much as I do!
